Reginald Johnson (1909-93) worked at the Royal Doulton factory from 1923 under the tutelage of Charles Noke. Later setting up his own studio modelling figures in the style of Noke and Royal Doulton.

HMS Garth 1940, A WWII heavy Brass ships bell. The HMS Garth was a Type 1 Hunt Class Escort Destroyer completed 1st July 1940. The Garth was part of the Dunkirk Evacuation, Operation Jubilee 1942 (Dieppe Raid), 1943 rammed and sank its 1st E-Boat, 1944 Allied Landings in Normandy. On 25 Aug 1958 the Garth was sold for scrap to Thomas W. Ward in Barrow. Lower section has damage likely from shrapnel. Height: 32cm

10.5cm high, bearing armorial crests / coats of arms, and partial but clear hallmarks, appearing to be for London 1796, and by makers Prince & Cattles. Gross weight 272g.
